There are different types of acne such as the mild or moderate acne vulgaris, severe acne vulgaris, and the acne rosacea.
Types of acne
The mild or moderate acne vulgaris include whiteheads that appear as small white bumps, blackheads that look like a black and big spot on the skin, papules that are red tender bumps, and then pustules that are inflamed red spots with yellow or white center. There is also the severe acne vulgaris, which is characterized by cysts and nodules. These come with large lesions that can be painful, and in the case of cysts, may be filled with pus.
How to deal with acne
Before you do anything with your acne, you must first identify the type of acne you have. If it is a mild or moderate one, you may opt for topical solutions or over-the-counter products. However, if your acne is severe, it is best that you consult a dermatologist before doing anything. A dermatologist can prescribe medications and treatments that will work best to restoring a healthy skin condition and effectively control acne. Aside from that, you must also consider your skin type. If you have a very sensitive skin, you must also see your dermatologist before applying cream or any ointment on your acne spots.
